Saturday January 22,2011 DAYS GONE BY 75 years ago-1936 Peter McHugh,about45,froze to death in a snow drift at Willianstown during the night.At 8:30 o'clock Thursday morning.Constable William Jones of the West Ward notified Deputy Coroner George Wren,that he had found the body in his back yard,and investigation revealed McHugh had frozen to death.Away from town for some time,McHugh had just returned Wednesday and last evening was returning to the home of his sister through a short cut which led through the Jones property,and which had not been used to a great extent since the snow drifted.
