Hauser in "The Penn Germania continuing from the Pennsylvania German, a Popular Journal of German History and Ideals in the United States" ed by H.W.Kriebel, on page 703, in the October 1912 issue. It says about Millersown, "The first hotel in the town was a block house and stood where the Keystone House now stands and was kept by Leonard Schlauch, and here the people gathered to hear the news of the times." I found a Jacob Schlauch, who was an under-burgesis in Lancaster Borough, PA, in 1755. That was in "Swiss and German Pioneer Settlers of South Eastern Pennsylvaniam and of Their Remote Ancestors from the Middle of the Dark Ages, down to the Time of The Revolutionary War." by H. Frank Eshleman, B.E., M.E., LL., B., on page 322 In "A Collection of Uwards of Thirty Thousand Names of German, Swiss, Dutch, French and other Immigrants in Pennsylvania from 1727 to 1776" by Prof I. Daniel Rupp, there are these SCHLAUCHs: *pg 58: Hans Jacob - sailed June 15, 1728, arr. Sept 1728 on the "James Goodwill" Master David Crocket from Rotterdam, last from Deal. *pg 82: Andreas and Philip - Sep 30, 1730 - on "Dragon" Master Chas. Hargrave, from Rotterdam, last from Plymouth. *pg 178: Hans Michel SCHLAUCH - Oct 9, 1747 - sailed on "Restauration" Capt James Hall, from Rotterdam, last from Leith. "Inhabitants of the Pa;atinate and places adjacent" *J. Michael SCHLAUCH - Oct 26, 1754 - sailed on "Mary and Sarah" Capt Thos Brodrich, from Amsterdam, last from Portsmouth, "Inhabitants from Franconia, Wirtemberg, and the Palatinate" *Christian - Sep 20, 1772 - sailed on "Minerva" Capt James Johnston, from Rotterdam, last from Cowes. As far as the George Michael/Michel/Michal, I got a lot of hits on that combination but they were first and middle names, with other surnames.
