Hi, I am trying to find my great great grandfather and family. I have found Martin, his wife and one child, John on the 1840 census of Pottsville. Now my challenge has been to find where they went. I know in 1860 Mary, his wife, John and other children wind up showing up on the census without Martin. I suspect he worked in the mines. There doesn't seem to be many census records online for 1850 in Pottsville or the areas in between Pottsville and Wiconisco, in Dauphin County. Any suggestions where I can go? Where do I find birth certificates for those born in Pottsville as several children were born there? Thanks for any help you may have.
