Judy, There exists a 1879 version of the Schuylkill County Directory that naturally includes Ashland. I do not record where I found it, but most likely at the Pottsville Public Library. The folks there have always been most helpful if you don't want to/can't/ visit the library in person, just send them an email/letter.
