HW Kreibel: Pg 140: A note about Haldiman being a well-known name in Switzerland, and how the Haldemanns in America are like many of the other "Mennonitishe: immigrants from the Emmenthal. Article given to Mr Horace L Halderman, of Marietta, PA from Prof. Dr. H Turler from Staatsarcharvar, Bern, Switzerland. Pg. 542: William H Haldeman, 17, and Henry Haldeman, 28, both Privates, as members of the Allen Rifles and Jordan Artillerists, later designated as Company I of the First Regiment Pennsylvania Volunteers, April 18 to 21, 1861. On page 549, Henry is promoted to a Leut in the 47th. In "Pennsylvanis Genealogies, Chiefly Scotch-Irish and German" by William Henry Egle, M.D., M.A. James ALBERSON is listed as a Justice of the Peace, in Montgomery Twp, Ashland Co, OH, in 1686.
