Mrs. Emerson Smith Dies In Hospital Mrs. Emerson Smith, 41, Mowry, died Thursday night at the Geisinger Memorial Hospital in Danville. She was admitted to the hospital on Friday of last week and underwent a major operation on Monday. Mrs. Smith, the former Gertrude Alberta Runge, was born in Lavelle, a daughter of Mrs. Charles Runge and the late Charles Runge. She spent her entire life in that area and was a memeber of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Lavelle. To survive beside her husband she leaves four sons and one daughter. They are Sgt. Loren, U.S. Army Air Force, stationed at Lincoln, Neb., but now home on furlough; Edwin, Russell, Donald and Miriam, at home. Also survivng are a brother, Fred Runge and a sister, Mrs. Howard Fey. Mrs. Smith will be buried on Monday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock from her mother's home.
