This John was born in Tuscorora, PA. His father was Patrick Owens (of Ireland), who died in Pottsville, PA in a Union Army training camp. John had sons Charles, Thomas, John, James and daughters Anna Marie and Elizabeth. Charles died in Lancaster, Pa. Thomas died in Mt. Carmel, Pa. John died in Mahanoy City, Pa, James died in Philadelphia, Pa. Anna Marie died in Philadelphia, Pa. Elizabeth died in Ashland, Pa. and married Joseph Peter Meyer or Meyers in Ashland, Pa. Elizabeth married John Robinson. John W. Owens who is referred to here was born May 7, 1854 and died April 18, 1927 in Lancaster, Pa. He is buried in St. Mary's Cemetery, Mt. Carmel, Pa.
