It gives more credence to what I was told about our Haldemans being from Bern, Switzerland. I think William H. Haldeman probably is my gr. grandfather who was in the Civil War. Don't know about the others, but it gives me some names to research. I see you have 141 Walters. I am looking for Henry (could be Heinrich) Walters (note the s) and his wife Kathryn Muller. They are supposed to be from Alsace-Lorraine. Sometimes this is referred to as France and sometimes as Germany. Again thanks for your generosity. 3. I didn't find a Heinrich Walters, with the "s" but there were two with out the "s" in Prof. Rupps" "... 30,000 Names ...." Here they are: *Johann Heinrich Walter - Sep 9, 1738 -"Glasgow" Master Walter Sterling, from Rotterdam, last from Cowes. *Johann Heinrich Walter - Oct 2, 1741 - "St Andrew" Master Charles Stedman, from Rotterdam. I wish there was more I could find for you. Sande "gc-gateway@rootsweb.com" <gc-gateway@rootsweb.com> wrote: This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list.
