Barb, Many thanks for the information. The reason I am searching Schuylkill County is that is supposedly where Peter Kutz passed away. The SAR Patriot index shows Peter's wife as Maria Catherine Faust/Paust. The DAR notation of F.A.M.P.S. (future applications must prove service) is news to me, and I appreciate getting it. I will have to get back with the descendant and have him check the information he fed me. If anyone out there has any other clues, I would appreciate hearing from you. If it pertains to Peter Kutz any records prior to 1811 would be found in Reading, the county seat of Berks. I was just to the courthouse there in June and they have very few records from before 1800. Looks like a fire might have destroyed them although a resident explained that when the new courthouse was built a lot of old papers were accidently thrown out. Maybe you should try accessing church records from Berks Co. Good luck. I am the local SAR Chapter registrar, but have taken it about as far as I can via census records, etc. Peter Kutz (1754-1817) married Maria Catherine Faust (?). Son was George (1780-1857). George's daughter was Elizabeth who married Jacob Sherman. Their son was John George Sherman (1832-1906) who married Elizabeth Daubert. Once past George and Elizabeth things can be fairly well documented. Is there anyone on the list who can assist with this? Is anyone going to Pottsville to the courthouse anytime soon who would have some time for some look ups? This person needs hard documentary evidence/proofs for the Sons of the American Revolution, and neither us us can personally get to Pottsville and do any research.
