    3. I did go find it, and I agree that it looks like Canal something. The character at the end that looks like a dot with an small r on top of it, is probably an abreviation as some people in those days would abbreviate words like that, with a dot and the letter on top of the dot. When I searched for Susan Mayer or Magen I did not find her in N Manheim, so I just looked through the census for that area to find her and it did look more like a Moyer than a Mayer, but many of those names were spelled a number of ways by the Census takers. Nonetheless, the "Jn do" is shorthand for "John" & the "do" means "ditto" for surname. Enumerators often used the "do" when same occupation, &/or place of birth. John's occupation, at first, appeared as "Level something." Then, it looked like "Canal something." I cannot decipher that 2nd word.
