Frie, widley known grocer of Nichols Street and for the past thrity or more years a business man of this city died at his home here on Monday evening following an illness of almost a year. He had been operated upon several months ago at the Pottsville Hospital and was apparently recovering, but paralysis set in resulting in his death. Mr. Frie was born in Pottsville 55 years ago and was reared and educated in this city. For a number of years he was a grocery clerk and then went into business for himself conducting the store on Nicholas Street for 28 years. He was a member of the M.F. Church and fraternally was connected with the Good Will Hose Co. and the P.O.S. of A. He served in the Spanish American War and was a member of the Theodore Hoffman Camp of this city. To survie he leaves a widow and three children, Elizabeth, Dorthy and David at home. Two sisters and two brothers also survive, Mrs. August Wehner and Mrs. Harry Cartwright, Frank and George all of this city. The funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon.
