    1. [PASCHUYL] Migrations
    2. Kelly Jean McEntee
    3. I have noticed a pattern in migration and I'm curious to know if anyone else has noticed the same. It seems to me that a lot of Irish who came to Schuylkill County in the 1850s from Ireland and worked in the mines or slate industry, later moved (or their children moved actually) to industrial areas in NJ. For example, I have a number of families, either my own or related later, who moved to Bayonne, NJ, around 1900-1910. They were in the petroleum industry, usually for Standard Oil, often as machinists or pipe fitters. I find this interesting. Has anyone else found the same? Does anyone know why? Previously I had noticed much migration to Philadelphia, but this is more interesting. While I'm emailing, does anyone else share the following family: US Census, 1880, Pennsylvania, Schuylkill County, Shenandoah, District 202 Campbell, Daniel, 50, Head, Laborer, Ireland Campbell, Catherine, 43, Wife, Keeping House, Ireland Campbell, Thomas, 21, Son, Laborer, Pennsylvania Campbell, John, 20, Son, Laborer, Pennsylvania Campbell, Francis, 19, Son, Laborer, Pennsylvania Campbell, Patrick, 16, Son, Picking Slate, Pennsylvania Campbell, Mary Ellen, 14, Daughter, At Home, Pennsylvania Campbell, Catherine, 12, Daughter, At School, Pennsylvania Campbell, Michael, 10, Son, Picking Slate, Pennsylvania Campbell, Joseph, 9, Son, At School, Pennsylvania Campbell, Margaret, 7, Daughter, At School, Pennsylvania Campbell, Daniel, 5, Son, , Pennsylvania Campbell, Cornelius, 2, Son, Pennsylvania Cuningham, Francis, 26, Brother-in-law, Laborer, Ireland Cuningham, Michael, 24, Brother-in-law, Laborer, Ireland Thanks!
