Maurice, My thanks to you that you are caring for these American graves. There is a list of Americans interred overseas from World War II but Albert Kedell is not included. I wonder why these four men were not included in the American military cemeteries that dot the Europe landscape. I did find Albert's enlistment record. It states that he was born in Pennsylvania in 1918, white, enlisted July 29, 1942, in the U.S. Army, served as private, had one year of high school, was single with no dependents, and described as 68 inches tall and weighing 157 pounds. His brother John born in 1917 enlisted in the U.S. Air Corps on November 20, 1945, was married and employed as an auto mechanic. Their father William Kedell (also shown as Kedel) died on July 15, 1918, and was buried in the Meuse-Argonne American Cemetery, Romagne, France. He had served as a private in the 166th Infantry Regiment, 42nd Division. So the father and son both rest in European soil. If these graves do not have small American flags next to them, I would like to send you some so that you could add these. We try to see that all American military and veterans' graves have flags and do this each year on May 30 which we call Memorial Day. This began right after the end of our Civil War (1861-1865). I would need your address to do this. Sincerely, Barbara Welch A native of Schuylkill County who now resides outside of Washington, D.C. -----Original Message----- From: paschuyl-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:paschuyl-bounces@rootsweb.com]On Behalf Of gc-gateway@rootsweb.com Sent: Sunday, May 27, 2007 5:12 PM To: PASCHUYL-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [PASCHUYL] Albert Kedell This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list.
