In the 1850 Census for Schuylkill Twp., Schuylkill County, PA, Hallender (aka Ellen/Eleanor) WILLIAMS, age 8, born in Wales is a daughter in the household of Evan, 47, collier, and Mary, 40, WILLIAMS. She is shown as Ellen, 19, in the 1860 census for Tuscarora, and was still living with her parents. In the 1870 census, there are two Ellens who could be a married Ellen WILLIAMS. They are: 1. Shenandoah - Ellen LEWIS, 29 Wales, husband Abraham 30 Wales, miner, p. 591B. 2. Mahanoy Twp. - Ellen ROBERTS, 30 Wales, husband Samuel 28 Wales, ch: Hannah 9 PA, Jane 5 PA, Harriet 3 PA, Mary 3/12 PA, p. 499B. This family was in the 1880 census for Shenandoah, and Samuel ROBERTS was shown as born in England and his parents in Wales. In 1880, additional children were: Samuel 7, Harriet A. 3, and Minnie 9/12. Any help in determining if either of these Ellens might be the Ellen WILLIAMS mentioned above would be greatly appreciated.
