Hello: I thought I would share this (limited) information in case someone is trying to find shipping record for their Welsh ancestors coming to the USA. I found an 1833 shipping record that lists Welsh persons traveling to "Pottsfield" Pennsylvania. Where is Pottsfield? Is this Pottsville? I found my REES ancestor on this ship, heading to Carbondale (but she later went to St. Clair). Philadelphia Passenger Lists, 1800-1945 Arrival Date: 27 Aug 1833 Port of Departure: Newport, Wales Ship Name: Mandarin Port of Arrival: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Microfilm Roll Number: M425_48 Some surnames include Lewis, Cook, Pugh, Thomas, Richards, Williams, Jones, Evans, Powell, Brace, and a few names that I can't make out.
