    2. During the time frame 1870 - 1880 there's a remote possibility of a death notice in the Shenandoah HERALD or the MINERS JOURNAL. Both papers are on microfilm: JOURNAL at the Schuylkill Historical Society and the HERALD (1875 etc) at Pottsville Library and Harrisburg State Library. At the Prothonotary in Pottsville and Harrisburg there is a list of county accidental deaths or of unknown cases that starts in the early 1800s. A new policy at the Pottsville Anthracite museum provides one day a week to visit. I don't know what is required for personal research but I know one person who acquired data for a miner ancestor. The Irish Catholic Church in MC is St. Canicus. They do not have burial records due to a fire. There is no compilation of that particular cemetery (the compilation would only provide name if there was a headstone...without a headstone they would not be in the compilation). I did check the German Catholic Cemetery, St. Fidelis, but did not find a Cantwell. -----Original Message----- From: paschuyl-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:paschuyl-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Kelly Jean McEntee Sent: Saturday, May 19, 2007 8:47 AM To: paschuyl@rootsweb.com Subject: [PASCHUYL] Irish in Schuylkill Co 1800s Does anyone out there have experience in researching Irish miners in Schuylkill County c1870-1880? I am wondering where most Irish Catholics were buried if they lived in the area of Mahanoy City and died during that time frame. Advice from past experience with this would be much appreciated.
