Kathy: I've been away from Shenandoah for a long time. There was a Flaherty family on S Jardin Street and also a Flaherty Funeral home on S Jardin. I attended Annunciation grade school in the '30s with James Meehan whose family (I think) lived on S Chestnut St until they moved out of town. I also went to school with Bill Brennan from N Main St (but there were Brennans behind every tree in the county!). The 1920 and 1930 US Census should give you some specifics on those subject names.
