Carmel PA Item- Tuesday, December 13, 1949 Death Claims Woman Bedfast Eight Months Mrs. Carrie Ploppert, 75, esteemed resident of 136 west Second St., died this morning at Ashland State Hospital where she was admitted as a patient yesterday afternoon. She had been ill for the past two and one-half years and was bedfast for eight months. Death was due to complications. A native of Scranton, Mrs. Ploppert was born August 8, 1884, a daughter of the late Henry and Louise Lyman. She was a resident of this city for the past 41 years and was well known and highly respected throughout the community. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid and Missionary societies of the church. Her husband, John Ploppert, preceded her in death June 5, 1933, and she is survived by the following children: Mrs. William Bowman, of Philadelphia; Waldermar Thiel, of Elmira, NJ; Mrs. Warren Diebler, at home, Mrs. George Williams, of Germantown; Mrs. Paul Brodbeck, Mrs. William Hellenthal, of Philadelphia; Mrs. Martin Colahan, of Strong; Lamar Ploppert and Mrs. Harold Miller, both of Mount Carmel.
