It was purchased for me in the early 1960's and also had my name on it. It looks well made and I remember wearing it on my back. Knapp of Pottsville PA is engraved on the item. My Mother was born and raised in Minersville and my Grandfather worked in Pottsville. I make an annualtrip to this area each year on my motorcycle. They had a daughter who is listed on the 1940 census in Girardville, Pa named Anna. I believe she was born around 1938. After George and Mary divorced Anna was apparently adopted by Mary's new spouse. Looking for Anna. Any idea how to find my aunt? Also, my great grandfather (George's dad) was named Stephen Carroll. He was also from Girardville, born Dec. 1883. We believe he died in a coal mining accident but I can't find any other info. Stephen married a Mary Williams. The staff at the Archives make the copies but I do think they are very particular. I also think Health tries to make copies of the certificates in the bound books (1952-1961) and that causes the dark places on the copies. These were at the end of Feb. and they cashed the checks in March. I finally got the first batch in June. The first one took about 14 weeks, the other around 16 or so, and I didn't even get the one copy yet. I got some silly thing that my "certified" copy would be delayed another 6 weeks (!), but I didn't ask for one of those, just a regular one. My cousin got the same letter.
