All your info is correct.I met your gr.father Metro many years ago probably around l952. I will email you when I get all my thoughts together-My husband Andy Jr. 1930-2010, told me some things about the family but his Dad didn't want to get involved in any family politics, and never said much.I have found 12 children, I know she had another set of twins that were stillborn, and a few that died very young. The 12 are: Michael-1900, Andrew-1904, Annie-1905, Metro-1909, Anthony(Fagan)-1911, Mary-1914, Paul-1918, Peter-1919, Theresa(Tessie)and John-1920, Adam(Barney)and Eva-1922. I will email you with my phone number and a couple of attachments, keep in mind the years are not quite accurate probably depending on the time of the year they were recorded. Ellis Island passenger search is interesting. Seems Onufer came over, then Katrina came over, and Onufer must have gone back and brought back a sister and her child- I think. Heard this from Eva's daughter. Do you know her? She lives in N.J. and is very close to Jack, who is Johnny K. and Julie's son. I think is great you and Margi and the other keysock's are interested in the family roots. My email is janet.kessock@gmail.com. I have lived in Charleston, WV for 39 years, when Andy's job took us here, but met Andy when we both lived in Woodhaven,Queens NY. where I was born and where Andy's family had moved to when they left Pa. and the mines.Andrew Sr. died of black lung disease. Thank you for your wonderful response :) Your husband is a cousin then. My grandfather is Pauls brother Metro and then my father Ernest was Onufer and Katrinas grandson...so I am in the right family. This is the first I heard of "White Russia". I will have to do a little more research on that. I was at the Pottsville Historical Society and found out more on the spelling of Kicak and pronunciation which, when arriving as immigrants it was butchered when Americanized. So sad that happens. Do you happen to have any information on Katrinas maiden name? We have several spelling varieties which makes it hard to trace (Rehn, Ryan, Reyen, Rantz). The year of his birth varies according to various documents produced during his life, i.e. children's birth certificates, death certificates, marriage certificates, military records, etc. According to John's marriage certificate, his parents were William C or J Evans and Catherine Llewelyn or Llelyen. According to various census records and stories passed down to his children, his parents were of Welsh-Irish ancestry and both were born in Wales. Supposedly, John had a least two sisters, they were named Charlotte and Catherine, names he used for his own children. I can trace John after he enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1903. I cannot find any proof of John or his family before April 1903. I need HELP in locating birth records, census records, family members, etc. After spending time in the military in California and the Philippines, John left the Army in Hawaii in 1912. He eventually married Philomena Silva or Silva Torres on the Island of Maui, and they had thirteen (13) children. John died in 1947. Please HELP me find information on my grandfather.
