I have not found a trace of where he came. So far as I have been able to determine his children were Zachariah, James Owens b. 18 Aug 1791, Thomas Owens, Hezekiah Owens, Noah Owens and Frances Owens. There may have been an additional child named Mathias. My aunt, now deceased, said that her family always thought he came from Pennsylvania. If you happen upon any information to this effect, I would greatly appreciate hearing from you again. Thank You. Kay Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Did the John Owens you refer as living in Lost Creek migrate to NC? This John had a wife named Ann (unk). I don't know who any of his relatives were, other than they had children. I would appreciate any information. Thank You. Kay Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Hello Listers This is my first posting to the list. I have in my family tree a SAMPSON PARTON bap.1834 in England, who after his first wife died in 1865, emigrated to Pottsville, U.S.A. travelling I believe, on the "Celtic" followed at a later date by two sons, William(Sampson) and Adam who married out there. He re-married about 1869 to a Mahala FARRINGER. I would like to find more about Sampson's new family and descendants in Pottsville and can supply details of his life before emigrating to anyone interested. If anyone recognises this family I would love to hear from them. Kathleen Parton (Shropshire Eng.) All outgoing mail is scanned by NAV

Coladale is near the line of Carbon and Schuylkill Counties but is in Schuylkill County. Because it is at the eastern end of Schuylkill it is often forgotten. The Welsh Church still exists their but doesn't have tis early records. Frank, in NJ ----- Original Message ----- From: "JRBinkley" <jrbfamily@zoominternet.net> To: <paschuyl@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, April 12, 2007 11:10 AM Subject: [PASCHUYL] Tamaqua Lutheran & Reformed Churches The histories of the German Lutheran and the (Swiss) Reformed churches in Tamaqua is of considerable interest -- it reflects what we learn about most of the spots in Berks and Schuylkill counties in the early days. I didn't use to pay much attention to which church my ancestors attended, since so many of the little early churches were Union churches, shared because of costs, and it was too hard to separate which denomination my various ancestors thought they were attending. I have since learned how useful the church affiliation can be -- in working with a group of other BINKLEY researchers about settlement in Lancaster County, it has turned out that confusions about family lines can be separated by the churches -- two early immigrants named Johannes BINKLEY could be separated by the fact one was Mennonite (didn't believe in child baptism) and another was having his children and grandchildren baptized in Reformed churches. The lines between Lutheran and Reformed probably are not as clear, since settlers may have been willing to have an infant baptized by whichever preacher happened to be available at the right time. And I suppose that when the Great Awakenings swept through in the 1800s, members of either group might have become Methodist. Anyone else have a comment on this?
