Church would have been/is St. Joseph Lithuanian Church, 600 W Mahanoy St, Mahanoy City, Pa. The cemetery records on posted to the Genweb Archives page for Schuylkill County. You will not be successful in obtaining any records/information from the church files. They consider genealogy to be a 'hobby' and will not cooperate with any quests. Shirley
Does anyone know anything abt the above family. It is also spelled Gimby and Gimbe. Louise Gimbi was my husband's great grand mother. Here is her obit and it lists her siblings who were still alive when she died in 1920. Using the obit I looked for Gimbis in McAdoo and Abraham Yost in Mahanoy City. I think that her sister was Catherine Gimbi Yost and her brother Albert Gimbi of McAdoo. I want to discover her parents but cannot find this family in the 1860 census when Louise was a little girl. There are Gimbis right over the borders into Luzerne and Carbon Co.s In places like Hazleton and Beaver Meadows Also Ancestry.com sends me to Gumby but nothing fits. ---------------------------- Obituariy of Louise Gimbi Keapf Tuesday April 20 1920 In local Tamaqua Pa. paper Mrs. Louise Krapf dies Monday April 19, 1920 in the morning. Mrs. Louise Krapf, wife of John H. Krapf, died at her home, yesterday morning from apoplexy [stroke]. She was 67 years of Age and has resided here the greater paart of her life. Prior to that time she lived in Hazleton. She is survived by her husband, two daughters and one son as follows; Mrs Charles Foulk, Mrs Scott Brubaker and Andrew W.; all of town. A sister Mrs. Abraham Yost of Mahanoy City, and a brother, A.W. Gimbi, of Mc Adoo; 19 grandchildren and 2 Great Grand Children also sirvive. The funeral will be held from her late home on Hazle street, on Thursday afternoon. A short service will be held at the House and at 2 o'clock a service will be held at St John's Lutheran church, with the paster Rev. A.E. Schmitthenner, Officiating. Inteerment will be made in St John's cemmetery, Dutch Hill. Bischoff is the funeral director. --------------------------- Anyone got some leads? Thank You Glee Krapf

To Cheryl and Kathy This is entirely off thread but your work on the Dorans may help me. I am seeking a marriage circa 1906 - 1914 of a Catherine Doran to a Charles William Densley. I can't find it in England, Scotland or Wales, or overseas as a WW1 soldier for Charles. Ireland and the USA had both crossed my mind. Any help that you could give would be appreciated. regards Judith Upton Portishead, Bristol, UK
