Roger, So you have the Porter Twsp 1890 Census, can you check for: Henry & Catherine Bambrick, with children: William, James, Harry, Thomas, Mary, Margaret, & Francis. They lived in Good Springs. I don't believe their were any other Bambrick's in Porter at the time or not. Atleast I'm guesing they lived their then. The 1900 Census has them there, but perhaps they were still in Girardville at that time. I'd appreciate you checking though. I was just looking at your home page with ties in Lykins & Wiconisco - Thomas above married Elizabeth Gaffney from Lykins/Wicsonisco area in 1903, her parents were Charles & Elizabeth nee Kute (Hoffman- Gaffney. As stated by others, the 1890 Census was almost completely destroyed by fire; however, there exists a microfilm record of the Schuylkill County Historical Preservation Project which attempted to reconstruct the 1890 Census. I had recourse to Reel #2 at the Pottsville Library, in 1994, while researching the Stamm Family. I don't know how complete the project is; but you might be able to satisfy your curiosity by contacting the library, http://www.pottsvillelibrary.org/where.htm "Where and how to reach us". Sorry, Lizzie Wall is not in Orwigsburg in the 1890 directory, however Frank Bossler 19 (works in shoe factory) is living with Samuel S> 47, Johannah, George 17 (barber), and John R. 15. The 1890 (I think) might be online at the Schuylkill Co. Genealogy web page? In the 1890 directory, there are NO ages for the females - I suppose that could be a good thing, but it is not helpful to us into genealogy.... Sarah Quinn

Joan, The 1890 census were destroyed in a fire...your best approach would be the historical society and directories if indeed they had them for 1890 for Owensburg or church she attended. ----- Original Message ----- From: <JLutz54950@aol.com> To: <PASCHUYL@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, June 28, 2007 7:09 AM Subject: [PASCHUYL] 1890 census > If someone has acess to an 1890 census for Schuylkill County for > Orwigsburg, > would you please check to see if a Lizzie M Wall is in it? Author: langtoncharlie Surnames: Langton Breslin Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.pennsylvania.counties.schuylkill/11318/mb.ashx Message Board Post: My grandfather is Peter Langton, originally of Girardville, son of John and Ellen Langton of Girardville. If my research is correct, John and Ellen's as-yet nameless parents were born in Ireland, but I do not know where exactly. My immediate goal is to find out what part of Ireland my father's family (Langton) came from. I would also like to know the same about my grandmother's Breslin side. Can anyone point me in the right direction? What I know, or think I know now: My father's name is Francis Ignatius Langton, b. 04-26-1919, d. 07-06-1993, According to the 1920 U.S. Census: My father was living as a child in Locust Gap, Northumberland County, PA. His father was Peter Langton, born in PA, His mother was Mary E. "Mae" (Breslin), born in PA. Siblings: May, Elinor, Anna, Joseph. According to the Northumberland County Courthouse Marriage Records v. 15, p.534: My grandfather, Peter Langton, lived in Girardville, PA, before residing in Locust Gap, PA. He married Mary Breslin of Locust Gap on July 1, 1908 in St. Joseph's Church in Locust Gap, PA. Peter's parents were John and Ellen Langton. Mary's parents were Michael and Rose A. Breslin. According to the 1920 U.S. Census: Peter's father John was born in Pennsylvania. Peter's mother Ellen was born in Ireland. Mary's father Michael was born in Maryland. Mary's mother Rose A(nn). was born in Pennsylvania. According to information supplied by John Breslin: Mary's father, Michael Joseph Breslin, had a father also named Michael. The elder Michael had immigrated to Maryland from Ireland around 1856 and moved to Locust Gap, PA, around 1870. Mary's mother's maiden name was Rose Ann Noble. What I am almost sure of: According to the Girardville, PA, 1800, census: Peter Langton's possible parents John and Ellen Langton were living in Girardville, PA, with their children Jerome, Julia, Mary E. and John J. Since this is just prior to when Peter was born, it is hard to verify that these are indeed the SAME John and Ellen as his parents, but their birthplaces are the same (John, PA; Ellen, Ireland), and Peter lived in Girardville before moving to Locust Gap, so it is likely. If so, the census indicates that both sets of John's and Ellen's parents were born in Ireland. Can you help me find what part of Ireland I stem from, on either the Langton or Breslin side?
