Have you anything on the Albertsons? We have not been able to find a burial place or death date for Elizabeth's father, Jacob. Have you any photos you could share? I do have one of Elizabeth, taken in 1880. We can't send attachments through this medium, though. I also have photos of Elizabeth's sisters, Mary Jane and Rachel, and of her brothers, George, William, and Jacob. They're not the greatest as the copies sent me were only xeroxed, but they're better than nothing. Thanks again for writing; I guess we are some sort of cousins! I just consulted some other notes and found that Elizabeth Albertson Marx died and was buried in Rose Hill Cemetery, Brookfield, Linn County, Missouri. Perhaps this is where Peter disappeared to as well. I got this information from Don Albertson of Erie, PA. He happened to mention a Bill Marx of Redding, CA once. If interested, I can put you in touch with Don. ----- Original Message ----- From: gc-gateway@rootsweb.com<mailto:gc-gateway@rootsweb.com> To: PASCHUYL-L@rootsweb.com<mailto:PASCHUYL-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, August 09, 2007 8:09 PM Subject: Re: [PASCHUYL] Marks/Marx This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Today I received the death certificate for Annie McEntee, daughter of Alice and Edward McEntee (my GG grandparents). I ordered this online from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania over the weekend and it arrived already. They are quick! Annie died in 1918 in PA, was born in Ireland around 1857, and I had hoped that her death certificate might list a county in Ireland for her birth. No such luck; it says "Ireland," just like every other record I've found. There was one bit of information though that I completely forgot about, the maiden name of mother! It is right there on the death certificate - Annie McEntee was the daughter of Edward McEntee and Alice BRADY. So there is another surname for my family history - BRADY. So now at least I know that somewhere in Ireland, around 1845 or so, Edward McEntee and Alice Brady got married. I wonder what my chances of finding THAT record... Kelly

Additional ideas for finding where in Ireland your people came from: (1) Don't overlook tombstones of Edward's siblings. Sometimes a tombstone inscription yields the name of the town or parish the family came from. If you think Edward and Alice were married in Ireland before emigrating, then look for tombstones of her siblings, too. They were more likely to hail from the same area in Ireland if they were married there than if they were married after emigrating. (2) If you can get a date and locality of death for Edward's sister Annie, then look for an obituary for her; it might name the town. Likewise for any other siblings. I would suggest finding tombstones for these people. In St. Stephen's Church cemetery in Port Carbon (founded by Irish canal workers) there are numerous tombstones that include where in Ireland these people came from. Most of these Irish dead were not well-to-do but were able to purchase large stones with a lot of information on them. Another source might be church baptism records. My husband recently visited the church his grandfather was baptized in 1865 (though in Michigan) and the parish records written in Latin had where his great-grandparents were born. Good luck.
