    1. Re: [PASCHUYL] 1890 CENSUS GONE AWOL
    2. Mike Johnston
    3. Dorothy, The bulk of the 1890 Federal Census went up in smoke and flames when there was a fire in the building in which they were stored. Only a handful of records were saved. So now, like many of us on this side of the pond, there is a gapping hole in your family's history due to fire. On occasion, counties have reconstructed the 1890 census, but this is not a wide spread circumstance or occurrence. What part of the UK are you located in? I have a business client in Rugby, and have been to Birmingham on occasion as well. Regards, Mike Johnston Oswego, IL -----Original Message----- From: paschuyl-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:paschuyl-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of dorothy higgins Sent: Tuesday, October 09, 2007 6:09 PM To: PASCHUYL@rootsweb.com Subject: [PASCHUYL] 1890 CENSUS GONE AWOL Hello List. I am a new subscriber to your List, a family historian based in the UK. Was there a census taken for Schuylkill County in 1890? I have found my ancestors Edward & Casey Edwards with their family on the 1870 and 1880 censii, living at South Cass T/ship and the West Ward of Minerville in 1870 and 1880 respectively. Good old "Ancestry.com" popped them out but nothing for 1890. I would be grateful for any information on the present whereabouts of the 1890 census. Many thanks. Dorothy H. 3. Many of the censuses for 1890 for all of America were lost (or burned, can't remember what now) so you are very lucky if you do find a census for 1890. 1. [PASCHUYL] Lillie/Lillian ? married David Davis abt 1890
    2. Daphne Garrison
    3. Hi everyone, I'm trying to find the maiden name of Lillie/Lillian who married David Davis abt 1890. She was born in PA in November of 1872, her father was born in Wales, mother either Wales or Scotland (depending on what census record you check). After marriage they resided in Pottsville, Schuylkill county, but I can't find a marriage record for them in the online archives, so I can't be sure they married there. There are several Lillie/Lillians in the 1880 census that fit this profile, and I don't want to guess. My great-uncle, who did the family research for this tree, had her down as Lillian Morgan, and only a death date of 1933, but there are no citations for this information and I can't find a census record that fits. I found the Lillian Morgan in Allegheny county in the 1880 census, but I also found the same girl living with the same parents in the 1910 census. David and Lillian's children were Bessie, Rachel, Griffith, Loretta, Evan, Tudor (my great grandfather) and John. Thanks for any information (or additional advice on where to look). Oh, and if anyone is creating a general archive of Pennsylvania marriages, you're currently my favorite person. Daphne

    3. Hello Great Schuylkill County Listers, I am researching the above lineage. But, after much research I still cannot figure our Heinrich Kehler's 15 children's mothers. I see one wife as Elisabeth Fischer, another Elisabeth Philips, another Susann and still another Maria Elisabeth Schmid. Are all of these women really his wives, if so which children go with which spouse? I am researching his son Johannes Philip Kehler born 1776 who married Susanna Hepler born 1779. Is there anyone who has this information? Thank you, Pat Smith Uffenorde ( Schmidt/Smith, Zimmerman, Derr, Kern, Kelchner, Haeffner/Heffner, Dimler/Dumler, Scheible, Schuck )
