    2. Thank you to all that have responded to my queries!! I have now learned that Sada Deiter shown on the 1900 census was born 5 Feb 1893 and is the daughter of John Dieter and Lizzie (born) Geist. However, I am still somewhat confused and hope someone can clear this up for me. When did John Dieter and Elizabeth Geist marry? Who were there parents? I see from the Marriage Docket list that Lizze Geist married John Miller (Book Number 7-A134 between 1885-1910). Why did she use her maiden name if previously married to John Dieter?? When did she marry John Miller and who were the parents shown on this marriage? Everyone has been so helpful . . . I'm sure there's is someone that can clarify all of this for me. I think what's confusing me is Sada Deiter is shown as "step-sister" on the 1900 census under John & Lizzie Miller and Francis Dunleavy is shown as "step-brother". I know the enurmerator could have messed it up, but it does make me ask questions. THANKS TO EVERYONE!! Karen ************************************** See what's new at http://www.aol.com

    3. Hello Jean. Thank you for your kind efforts on my behalf reference the 1900 & 1910 censii. Our ancestors have to date [other than a very light sprinkling of an Irish connection and an even lighter of English] been of Welsh origin. That of course excludes any marriages of the American members of our family. On this side of the Pond, we have traced back to the 1730s. We have as yet not looked at the Irish side of things, the English blood did not come into the family until reasonable recent times, 1907. Jean I presume you are living in the USA, which obviously makes UK research that little bit more difficult, I have the reverse problem. Therefore if you have a particular log-jam centred in or around Kidderminster, please give me relevant data and it will be my pleasure to see if I can loosen those logs up. Best regards. Dorothy. ----- Original Message ----- From: "JEAN AURAND" <jeanaurand@msn.com> To: <paschuyl@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, October 11, 2007 5:30 PM Subject: Re: [PASCHUYL] 1890 CENSUS GONE AWOL > Hello Dorothy: I have an Edwards relative (through marriage) in Tamaqua, Pa which is in Schuylkill County. You may find your Edwards family there in the 1900 census. I also have Edwards ancestry in the UK from Kidderminster. My gr gr gr grandmother, Ann, married a William Edwards. Ann had a son, Alexander Martin, and I've never been able to find the name of his first wife. His daughter's mother's name is listed as Elizabeth Edwards on the death certificate, but I think that MAY have been a confusion with Ann Edwards. Just throwing this out in case there is a possible connection. I'll take a look in the 1900 census (weren't you the one who didn't have access to an index?) and get back to you. 2. Paul Sabol
    3. Hi everyone. I'm new to the Schuylkill list. My aunt and uncle came to visit this weekend and brought some of their late aunt's papers and pictures for my genealogy work. In it was a postcard circa 1912 of 5 kids and an adult who were in a play. On the back is written "Play - St. Nicholas - Professor Michael Bilansky. Center angel - Jennie Strambo". Does anyone know any of the descendants of either Michael Bilansky or Jennie Strambo? Would like to forward this to their children/grandchildren. I found Jennie Strambo in Mahanoy City census in 1920 census, she was 20 years old, unmarried daughter. I can't find her anywhere after that. I didn't search for Prof. Bilansky yet. ____________________________________________________________________________________ Building a website is a piece of cake. Yahoo! 2. Leo, Peter and Mary were likely married in her parish church. As you probably know there were several Catholic churches in a couple miles radius of Pottsville. I've gotten marriage records from St Pat's (Pottsville) from the 1840s. I f you can find Mary's family location you can estimate the closest church where Irish immigrants attended. If the parish lost records from a fire, etc you might get help from the Diocesan headquarters, Philadelphia at first, presently Allentown. Leo H (Colorado). In a message dated 10/12/2007 9:24:43 A.M.
