Author: malcolmparry182 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.parry/653.2/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hi Further to yesterdays post The Louisa Parry that I am interested in was born in 1873 in Ware Hertfordshire she was the daughter of John Parry (Cwmyoy) and Clare Jane (Bishop Stortford, Hertfordshire) John and Clare returned to Penceableddin Llanbedr in 1875 ish she appears in the 1881 census at Penceableddin Llanbedr, in the 1901 census she is at Llangenny, Brecknock, as a general servant (next village over from Penceableddin Llanbedr). Can't find her in the 1911 census Her brother James (my great grandfather), appears in the 1911 census with his wife and 2 sons living at Howton Cottage, Portrilas, and her father John (buried Grosmont church yard) and mother are living at Yew Tree Farm Grosmont. My Great Grandafather returned to Grosmont (buried in Grosmont church yard) at some point (not sure when) as he was living in the village in 1940 when my father moved there as a child don't know were Stafford London is but I do know were Stratford London is and interestingly Ware and Stratford are about 25 miles apart but are linked by a navigable waterway (River Lee), and the barges would have been pulled by heavy horses (could explain what John Parry was doing there), my grandfather worked with horses in the army, my great grandfather was a wagoner (as shown on grandads death cert) and presumably my great great grandfather also worked with heavy horses. Interestingly Parrys living in Wales but born in Hertfordshire, are very distinctive in the census and so very easy to track.
