Surnames: Parr, Haley Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/wl4.2ACEB/505 Message Board Post: I just thought I would post this query again (Joanne Haley posted the same query a while back). Still searching for information concerning Elizabeth Parr who married James R. Haley, possibly in Virginia, around 1791. James was born in Virginia and it is possible that Elizabeth was also born in Virginia. The date I have is 1765. They moved to Franklin County, Georgia, sometime during the early 1800's. Elizabeth's father may have been Robert Parr or William Parr. I found information submitted by Peter Gossett to the Pedigree Resource File, compact disc #38. His information shows Elizabeth's birthdate as 1765 and her death as July 10, 1850. Her marriage to James R. Haley is shown as May 26, 1790 in Virginia. Does this Elizabeth fit into anyone's data? It is possible that the spelling of the surname changed or varied over time and could have been Pair, Farr, Pharr, or any other such variation. I believe the Haley family migrated to Georgia from Virginia by way of North Carolina and possibly South Carolina as well. Two of James R. Haley's children had unusual given names - Ludeary (a/k/a Ludy) and Ludicy (a/k/a Dicey). I can be e-mailed at ccline@ao.net or ludicy@ivillage.com
