    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/wl4.2ACEB/59.68.70 Message Board Post: My gg grandfather was a Thomas Parr who married Sarah Reeve in Peoria Co Ill in 1861. His parents were Joseph and Margaret. I would be keen on any further info on them. But I know of the Thomas Parr of whom you write. His two sons, John and James, married the two eldest Reeve girls, sisters of Sarah's. I do have a copy of your Thomas' probate and he names all his living children. Executorix is Heiress M Parr. There is no mention of a child by that name. He does go on to mention and bequeath to all the living children you outlined. Further, he leaves a two year old horse, a cow, and $50 to his "only daughter, Sally Parr". He and my Joseph seem to have both died in the same county on the same day, 11Dec1852. Do you know any details and could these two have been brothers? I would appreciate any info. Thanks, Doug Parr dgparr@hotmail.com

    3. I would like to find out more information about Joseph Parr, Harriet Parr Jones and Daniel Miller Parr. I may be related to them. I have located records revealing that Joseph Parr lived in Hillier Township, Prince Edward County from at least 1823 to 1846. His wife's name was Ruth. Joseph was naturalised in 1830 suggesting that he had migrated to Upper Canada from the United Sates. From 1830 to 1846 Ruth and Joseph Parr owned land in Hillier Township. Harriet Parr is a witness for one of the land transactions and Daniel Parr for another. This suggests that they were related to Joseph Parr, possibly being his children. At this stage this is all the information I have about Joseph Parr. Harriet Parr was born about 1812 somewhere in the United States, possibly Otsego County, New York. She married James Bell Jones of Hillier Township, Prince Edward County about 1830 and had 13 children in the following birth order: Elizabeth, Mary Ann, Sarah Emeline, Robert S, George, Amos Greer, Margaret Jane, Phoebe Ann, Francis Henry, Nancy, Harriet, James Harper and Samuel John. Harriet died in 1879 and is buried in the Christ Church Anglican church cemetery in Hillier township. Daniel Miller Parr was born in Upper Canada in 1824. On 15 April 1845 Daniel married Phebe Ann, the oldest daughter of Jotham and Chloe Raynor of Hillier township. They had six children in the following birth order: Chloe Ann, Jotham, Washington, Elgin, Sarah, and John. Chloe Ann Parr married John Moore from England and they had three children: George Albert, Helen Gertrude and Fred Daniel. John and Chloe Moore farmed in Hillier township. Daniel and Chloe Parr owned land in Hillier township from 1857 to 1867. The 1861 census lists Daniel as a fisherman. Daniel and Chloe do not appear in the 1871 census for Hillier township. I hope some one is able to link into these families and supply me with more information about them. I think Joseph Parr may be the father of my great, great grandfather, Amos Parr, who was born in Otsego County in 1807 and by the mid-1830s he was living in Upper Canada. Arnold Parr

    3. I am also trying to find out more information about Joseph Parr of Laurens, Otsego County New York. My only information about him comes from land records of the early 1800s. On 22 June 1812 Joseph Parr purchased one half acre of land, part of lot 36 in the Otego patent in the Town of Laurens, Otsego County, New York, USA from Daniel Johnson for $50. (Daniel Johnson settled on Truman Harrison's land in 1809. He ran a furnace and made iron parts for farmers and mechanics. Daniel Johnson and George Wilson built a cotton factory in Laurens in 1816.) On 29 April 1814 Joseph Parr and John Parr Jr of Laurens purchased five acres part of lot 35 Otego Patent in the Town of Laurens, Otsego County, New York from Moses Hoag for $109.29. (Moses Hoag settled on the Otego Patent before 1800.) On 7 June 1815 Joseph Parr sold five acres part of lot 35 Otego Patent in the Town of Laurens, Otsego County, New York to John Parr Jr for $109. The name Elisabeth Parr appears with that of Joseph Parr in the sale agreement where the names of vendors are listed. On 27 September 1815 Joseph and Elisabeth/Betsy Parr sold one half acre part of lot 36 Otego Patent, Town of Laurens, Otsego County, New York to Horace H and Daniel Dexter Comstock, sons of William Comstock, for $350. Joseph Parr does not appear in any of the Otsego County censuses unless he is the J Parr enumerated in the 1810 census. Joseph Parr may have died or left Otsego County by 1820 as he is not enumerated in the 1820 census. Arnold Parr
