    1. Re: [Parr] Did Sir William Parr of Kendal have children with Elisabeth Brooke outside of marriage?

I came across your posting on this subject on the Northamptonshire board, but it then disappeared and I traced it here! There seems to be no documentary proof that William PARR had any children with any of his three wives. William was born in Kendal (in the modern county of Cumbria) and was made Baron PARR of Kendal (amongst many other titles). I would therefore, firstly, assume that any offspring would have the surname PARR - not KENDAL. The IGI baptism in Morland that you have found for Elizabeth KENDAL is included in a submitted batch, and whilst not necessary incorrect, should be treated with great care. "Submitted" baptisms and marriages (usually identified with an initial "P" or "E" to the respective batch number) are just what they say they are - submitted by an individual, possibly - or possibly not - taken from original records or transcriptions. "Extracted" records (with an initial "C" for baptisms and "M" for marriages) are just that - extracted from original records or transcriptions. I'm afraid that if you are trying to trace your ancestry back to this Elizabeth, then the only way to do it is to go one generation at a time, confirming with original records as you go.
