I, too, am interested in the Parr's from England. My grandfather was Elijah Alexander Parr. He came from the Liverpool-Birkenhead area originally, but his mother died shortly after his birth. He was then raised in the London area. I sent for his Social Security application and the only new information was that his father was Elijah, too--and mother's name unknown. His date of birth is 1882. He worked as a ship's engineer for the American Sugar Company. He probably came to the US around the early 1900's or the turn of the century. He settled in the New Orleans area. His three children were named Cecil Alexander, Lionel Alexander and Regina Alexandra. So Alexander seemed to be an important family name---? I looked through some records from England. There were many Elijah Parr's so he's a tough one to trace. I'd appreciate any hints about where to look next. thanks, fox parr
