I will dig up a few pieces of info and get back with you I have read alot of your queries and I am interested about ,Hungary Italy. I also have some names I might be able to help you with , Dr. Koloczy new most of the Parr's and actually lived with them in Hungary. Let me know exactly what you are looking for and if at all possible the Hungarian spelling, or the Italian spelling. I have found a big difference in spelling. Hungarians do not have the letter Q in their alphabet. Most of my Parr's (Par hungarian spelling ) were from Gyore Medgye,Hungary Gyor is a town Medgye is a county. Write back and I will try to help you. I am still trying to find out about Henry James Parr who went down with the Titanic. I no he is not family but he belongs to someone. My other grandparents came fromBuda Pezst Hungary at that time it was 2 counties Buda one side Peszt the other side their last name Tako Hungarian Takacs. Thank you Kathleen Parr

I am slowly finding out a bit of information, the majority of the Parr/Par family I have is from Hungary. I did see however that on the SS Oceanic, 1903 there are Parr's on that ship it was leaving Liverpool and destination USA. There are quite a few Parr's that are on these ships even Henry James Parr who went down with the Titanic, go into the ship lines and you might find a clue. Thanks, Kathleen Parr

    3. There may be a connection with my Parrs but I have no proof. John Parr and Mary Thamas son John came to America in late 1600's or early 1700's along with his wife Mary ? and some of their children. The sons name were John Jr, Arthur, Mark, Matthew; daughters were Mary, Elizabeth, and Thamas. I know very little about the children other than Arthur (my 5th greatgrandfather). Any information you can provide will be greatly appreciated. ----- Original Message ----- From: <JSimmons@InfoAve.net> To: <PARR-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, January 27, 2002 10:53 AM Subject: [PARR] Re: John Parr b. ? d. 1745 m. 1. Re: [PARR] SWEET/PARR
    2. Larry and Patrick, In the summer of 1982, I started a file box of 4"x6" cards to organize my research---naive thought!! Now I could fill 6 large file cabinets! If you are interested, you can email me privately about the Parr connection to the Smith family---some new information! I think maybe Benjamin Parr was Benjamin Ward Parr, son of Deborah Ward Parr and her husband ______Parr. Benjamin Ward was her father and names Benjamin Ward Parr in his will. Was Deborah Ward the wife of Matthias Parr, Sr.? Benjamin Ward's will was dated19 June 1797 in East Windsor Twsp.,* Middlesex Co., NJ (that is now Mercer Co., but not far from where I live. One interesting thing I now note because I have been researching so many family lines in NJ that Benjamin Ward's will names daughter Martha Ward Van Marter and her son Benjamin Ward VanMarter and a son On Ward (Maybe On for Onderdonk?) Witnesses Peter Wilson, Robert Karson, and Rescaric Moore. The inv. of the will was made by Jacob Fisher and Robert Karson. An important note here is that there is a strong link between the Moore family and the Parr family intermarried with the Smyth/Smith family and the Helfer family. Jesse Parr d. 1776-8 and Elizabeth <Lee> had two sons Jessy and Joseph...Either son Jessy or grandson Jessy married a Nancy Ann or Mary Ann/Nancy Smyth, dau of Benjamin Smith, Jr. An Isaac Parr of Cranbury*, Middlesex co. had two ch: Dau Elizabeth m. John Moore. Benjamin Smith's family includes a friend named Moore. (*Note that Cranbury adjoins East Windsor Twp.) Christopher Helfer, second husband of Elizabeth <Lee> Parr, had a dau Appolonia who married a Fisher, first name unknown. There was also a Margaret Parr who had a dau Rachel in Warren or Sussex counties that I cannot match with a Parr man. I also have a list of Parr men from NJ who fought in the Rev War. 3. Thank you for your reply. The family tradition of our Parr family was that our Benjamin was the son of Matthias but I have never found any proof of this. A cousin who did did all the original research who was much older and knew a much older generation of Parrs had no doubt that Matthias was our ancestor. He was a cousin from a generation older than mine and had talked with people from two generations older than his. With no proof I am forced to go with oral tradition on this. I know that is not true genealogical proof and it bothers me but since I have little access to NJ and NY records it has to do. Thanks again for what you sent, none of this I had seen before. Have a healthy and prosperious new year.
