Janie, You have probably seen this web page. But take a look again. I have been doing research on the CLIFT and PARK/S family for about three years but have not been able to connect my PARK/CLIFT great grandparents to any of the CLIFTS or PARKS shown in this lady's very complete research. index Go to the CLIFT Genealogy, then to CLIFT Family History, then CLIFT Family File then to Henry CLIFT, b. 1775, Md, then do a search for PARKS, and also Malinda. You will find a William PARKS in Knox County, TN, and also a William or W. PARKS, later in Ellis County, Tx, married to CLIFT. However, the William CLIFTS' middle initial does not match yours. I have a lot of information on my great great grandfather, James CLIFT, but cannot tie him to this CLIFT family. They all lived in the Marshall County/Lincoln County, Tn, area in the very early 1800s, and so did Henry CLIFT and his descendants. I do feel that there is a definite connection but just now what. I have been collecting various bits and pieces of information about both of these surnames and cannot seem to make a break through. I also have corresponded with others who are working on these same families, and we are all stuck at the same place. My great grandfather was John Moore PARK, b.early in 1800s to Moses PARK, and my great grandmother was Margaret CLIFT. Her father was James CLIFT, b. abt. 1805, m. to Mary (Polly) BRENTS. I believe the CLIFTS migrated into Tennessee in the early years of 1800 from NC, and maybe through Ky. There are too many similar surnames among these people for there not to be a connection. But what? I would love to hear from anyone who could give any help on these people. There are several other researchers out there who have been researching this same family and so far we are all stalled. Would be happy to hear from anyone with these family names. Joyce PARK Riggs
