My Aunt has confirmed meeting Hugh Preston Parks, who was the Assistant District Attorney of Fayette Co. TN. He was also an avid genealogist. He was also related to my Aunt's Parks family. My Aunt's Parks family descends from the SOMERVILLE, TN Parks family. Their oldest known ancestor is Moses Parks, who is shown in the 1880 census in Fayette Co., TN. I am now trying to connect Moses Parks back to his ancestors in North Carolina. I believe that Moses Parks is a grandson of Hugh Parks, Jr. of Mecklenburg Co NC, who was a Revolutionary War Veteran. I have the confirmation on both his War service, and that he recieved a Federal Land Grant for his services, and that land grant was given to him, was land which is now in Fayette Co TN. I have a copy of the orignal handwritten will of Capt Hugh Parks, Jr. (Thanks to a wonderful, generous researcher) I wish to correspond with any Parks researcher who is related, and especially who can assist me in making this connection back to NC roots.
