Hi, Thanks for the response. I think it might help to explain why I'm interested in the Parks family. In the 1880 census, the Parks were living next door to a family named Dugan. I'm descended from Peter Dugan. I know that Peter married a woman from England circa 1889. So, I thought that there might be a chance that he married either Elizabeth or Annie Parks. The chance of that is starting to seem dim, but I haven't been able to eliminate the possibility. Family lore has it that Peter's wife deserted the family. The 1900 census lists Peter as a widower. But, in the 1910 census, Peter has a wife named Mary and they're supposed to be married for twenty years. I don't know what to make of this, but I still need to know what happened to the two Parks girl. If you can provide any information on this matter, it would be appreciated. Thanks, John F.
Ok my area of the Parkes...end up them coming to Vancouver Canada...and i am stuck..i have names of them in Vancouver...etc...but i cannot seem to go farther back. My Dads Mother was Annie Amelia Parkes...they descended from Parkes near Coventry England. Annie Amelia was born somewhere around there. Father was if i remember correctly(notes on filed) Samuel Parkes and she had uncles, one who became the head of state in Australia. Sir Henry Parkes. She had other aunts, uncles and siblings but we are stuck and haven't found out much else. We do not know when or who exactly came to Canada and the US...but i do have the names of the Parkes that were at Annie Amelia's funeral in New Westminister, near Vancouver. So altho this is likely not the same Annie(she was married prior to marrying my Grandfather) it might be a tie in somewhere. I will dig up my files...although i have not been able to find them, we have moved recently so have boxes yet to go through. > Hi, > > Thanks for the response.
