Hi ~~ I just found this in my family tree and wondering if anyone can shed some light on it! Rebecca Parks (Parque) born 1707, Co. Antrim, Ireland. Died 1806 Mill Creek, Newberry Co., SC. Daughter of James Parks (Jacque Parque) born c 1675 France - a Hugenot. I'm at a loss for the last name, which is obviously French, going from France to Ireland in the early 1700's. Here in New England we have a lot of folks changing their names from French to English to fit in during the early years. However, this is in the south. Anyone run into this.
