I am a Parks, and hold my head proudly because of it. Im fairly new at Genealogy and only yesterday found this list to sign up on, thereby increasing my chances, maybe of finding out something I might connect to my tree. Due to my lack of experiance at using a mailing list, a couple questions arise that someone may be able to enlighten me on. 1. Is there a site or place in can read some of the Parks mailing lists that came and went prior to my arival? (Maybe a dumb question but im asking anyway.) 2. Is there any record of some successful, conections made, from this list? My Parks tree, so far consists of mostly Georgia and South Carolina natives, but im told by an Aunt that we have relatives in North Carolina too. Im slowly documenting things as I go, but it sure is a slow go, since most of my time is spent working and making a living as a Railroad Carman. My G Grandfather was J.W. Parks b April 1851, married a Lula Tucker who was born Dec-1865 They had nine children and were mostly mill workers. They were living in Athens Ga. when the 1900 census was taken and some of them are buried there. Childrens names were: Lizzie b-12-1880, John b-11-1882, Tina b-12-1884, Mack Washington (my grandad) b-3-1887, Pearl b-3-1889, Maud b-abt 1890, Early b-10-1893, Nettie b-2-1897, Leona b-5-1899. Not documented yet what J.W. stood for but My grandad had a son he named John William unfortunately he died before his first birthday. Any help with some of these individuals would be greatfully apreciated. To all of you, whether your name be Parks or what ever I comend you and wish you well in your research. Thanks Walter Parks
