    3. To Park/e/s Chasers: In a recent note from the Wilkes County N. C. rootsweb they said the two books, "The Heritage of Wilkes Co," published by the Wilkes County Genealogical Society were out of print. I haven't belonged to the society for years but I was able to purchase both of those book in several trips down there. The first was published in 1982, the second in 1990. There are three Parks histories in the 1982 and twenty five in the 1990 book. Most are descendants of Thomas Parks who died on Ballenger's Mountain in Albemarle County Virginia in 1761. On a trial basis (time permitting!!!!) I will do lookups for Park/e/s researchers in those heritage books. Please bear with me as to time. I may get swamped. And please be aware that those printed histories are just someone's opinion like you and me. There is no, or very little documentation and should be used as hints only. First, before you send a query please take a gander at my web page. It is unique in that every person there is a proven descendant of the above Thomas Parks of Virginia. Most of the people are descendants of John and Thomas Parks, brothers, and sons of the elder Thomas. You will find wills, estate settlements, b, m & d. certificates. photos of grave markers, photos of people and many other documents designating proof. . http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Lake/1498 Second, please look over this page carefully. This is a page designating misinformation which has been circulated on the internet and in various other genealogical circles. In thirty years of searching this information is simply not true or there is no proof.. Save yourself some heartaches and do not believe a word of it. There are simply no records of proof.. http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Valley/9942/parksmistakes.html Good luck and happy searching DL
