Janie, For years I have looked for the parents of my James Clift. He is shown on the 1850 Lincoln County, TN, census, and is aged 45 or so, with a wife, Mary (Polly), and I cannot find out who his parents were. His daughter, Margaret, married my great grandfather, John Moore Park. The Park has only one "s" (Park) but this is used as one and the same many times. Also, I have found some Parks in Ellis County, Texas, in 1880 Census. Look on the new LDS site. There is some connection with this Parks and the Clift family. I don't know exactly what. Need to go tend to Thanksgiving dinner preparation, but will be back in touch. Interesting info you have. Joyce Park Riggs
