In response to Roy's list of John Parks. Doyou have anything on John Parks born circa 1780 in Arlington, VT??? He is father to Silas Leonard Parks b. 1801 in Arlington, VT, as well as Peter Glick Parks circa 1807..also Vermont. Silas Married Betsie Brown of Chatham Canada. Silas is grandfather to my grandmother, Elizabeth Parks born 1875 in Shiawasee, or Owosso, MI. So far, no one has been able to trace John or find a wife for him. There are many of us descendants working on this. Thanks for any help you may offer . Silas had 13 plus children and came to MI from the Hartford Colony in NY. Karen

Does anyone on the list have a Daniel and William Parks [or Park/e/s] who might have been in Vermont -- even briefly - around 1794-1795? The area would be Rutland. They were probably related. Probably did not remain in Vermont. Cheryl

Maybe the rest of you are aware that F. S. Parks' book on the Parke family was online. But, if not, this is a wonderful resource. http://www.accessgenealogy.com/surnames/parks/index.htm It was probably published around 1900-1915 and deals with the Park/e/s descended from Richard Parke of Cambridge and William Parke of Groton.
