    3. JESSE PARKS is buried in the DUNN cemetery, Breathitt County Ky. He was born in 1920 and died in 1932. I posted a message over a month ago with the same info asking if he was in your database. I wanted to know who his parents were. My PARKS relatives are buried near him, ALFORD & LAURA TRENT PARKS, MARION PARKS, ANDREW PARKS & my grampa CLEVELAND PARKS. I thought he must be related to me somehow, so I wonderered if any of my PARKS are in your database. Roubideau wrote:More information is needed. Nor does she show up on an entire US Census search for her -- so, either she was missed, was using a different name, or was residing with another Lewis family at the time of the 1850 Census. I think that the key to finding the Parks who is the father, is finding Palmyra. There is an Elisha Bartlett, a widower, enumerated in 1850 - could this be him? 3. I have been looking for the Rufus Parks who had a son, Charles, in 1850 in the Troy/Petersburg/Berlin area of Rennselaer County, NY by Palmyra Lewis. They apparently did not marry and she married Elisha Barlett within a year or so of Charles birth and bore him three daughters. There are Rufus PArk/e/s all over the place but I have been searching for 20 years without luck. The only reference we have is on Charles' death certificate, where it is spelled 'Parks'. We have searched all the county records and anywhere else we could think of. I have paid for copies of land grant records to no avail. I found a Rufus Parks in the Michigan death records who looked promising; he was born in New York and his father was Asa Parks, a shoemaker. I simply have never been able to make a connection. Thanks for letting me air my frustration. Mary

    3. Yes, of course there is always at least one and I have one for you. I have been trying to make several connections, but to no avail...1) trying to find out if 1) Lois B Parks b: 1815 Settled in Randoph Cty, NC and John Parks (wife Mary Crisman) settled in Randolph Cty, NC were brothers. 2) Trying to determine which Samuel was the father of my Alexander Parks (b:1780/Orange Cty, NC) 1st Samuel born 1710/14 died 1780 in Orange Cty, NC) 2nd Sam (Sam 1st son) b: 1734, 3rd Sam (2nd Sams son) b: 1734. It is possible that even at an old age Sam I could be father. It has been written of Alexander that his father died when he was young. Do not have death dates on Sam's 2 & 3. All from Orange Cty. Any one of them could be... any help with this? 3. Sandy this look alot like my great-grandfathers family but I have not been able to attach a father to my great-grandfather. His mother came from Pennsylvania and moved down into Harrison Co. after the death of ? Parks moved back to Pennsylvanic and married a Martin. I have found a book on the internet and it talks about Parks. Some of the sons started a Ship Building Company of the Monogahia River between Pittsburg and Virgina, at Brownsville, Fayette Co. Pennsylvania on one side and Washington Co. on the other. I was so happy because I thought I could find my missing Parks. Pennsylvania however does not start keep birth records until 1883. David and James Parks went to Ohio. There is a Thomas Parks but he went back to West Virginia. The older members of the family seem to think that he is my great grandfather's brother. I will see if I can dig out more information on those Parks and some that I found in a Church record book in Pennsylvania. One think I have found is that Parks who came into New Jersey though Pennsylvania and went on are Germany. However the Parks who came into Maryland though Virginia and up into Pennsylvania are English (Irish or Scottish) and the one's who settled in Jamestown and Williamburg where French who lived in England. Good luck I have been trying for 5 years. Carolynne D. 3. Hi, Feeling lonely?? <vbg> I am looking for the parents of Peter Glick Parks, born 1807 in Vermont. We think his father was a John Parks. Peter's grandmother was possibly a Sarah Galusha. We know Peter had a brother Silas Leonard. Peter married Charlotte Lamb in Broome Co., New York and was the father of 12 children. The family moved from New York to Michigan and then settled in Illinois, first in DuPage County and then McHenry Co. Peter died in 1891 in Lamar, Barton Co., Missouri. Any connections for anyone?? In this book is there a mention of a David G. Parks who was born VA, per census of 1850, ca July 1793. He married a Martha Hervey of SW PA. They moved to Knox County OH where he died in July 1850 after a fall from a horse. They had William Hervey Parks, Catherine Brown Parks, Margaret Jane Parks, John Parks, Isoble Bonar Parks, Finley Parks, John Howard Parks, Steen Black Parks and Harriett Newell Parks. I have traced Martha's ancestry, but have yet to find a clue as to David G. Parks' ancestry. Would love to have more info on him, but have hit so many dead ends that I have almost given up. 2. I have a lot of questions, but no one seems to be able to help. I have a G-G-G grandfather named James Parks. He was born c. 1780 either in Fayette Co., PA or in Maryland somewhere. His father is believed to be David Parks and we think that he had a brother named David. James married either Elizabeth Davis or Elizabeth Boyd (not sure which), moved to Belmont Co., OH when he was in his young 20's and raised a family of eight children--David, Rachel, Jonathan Davis, Elizabeth, James Jr., John B., Joseph and Thomas. I descend from David. No matter how I and others in the family try, we just can't seem to go back any further. We think they were Scotch-Irish. Father David we believe was born c. 1750. I really wish we could find someone who could help tear down the brick wall. Sandy

    3. In a rare book that I have there is the reference to a James Park (Samuel) who was born in 1760, and died Dec 8, 1811. He was with Col. William Crawford in his disastrous expedition against the Indians in northwestern Ohio in 1782. He married Isabella Craighead. She was born July 15, 1763, and died April 5, 1833. Children: Samuel b. 1802, died 1855. He married Sarah Phillips; they had no children. He conducted a hotel in Wellsville, Ohio in 1832, and in 1839 he was proprietor of a hotel in New Concord, Ohio. George, died young I mention this family because James is one of 5 known children of Samuel Park who settled in Washington County, PA. Samuel was born in Ireland about 1730 and died in Washington County about 1794. He married Margaret Marshall about 1757; they had travelled on the same ship but married after their arrival. They settled in Donegal Township, Lancaster Co., PA and then went into Virginia about the time of the Revolution. Children were John James Mary Isabella Hugh At 08:46 AM 6/23/02 -0400, you wrote: >Sandy this look alot like my great-grandfathers family but I have not been >able to attach a father to my great-grandfather.
