Does anyone have any really "old" Maryland Parks? We have Robert Parks married Polly (probably Mary) Hardwick. They lived first in Greenup Co., Ky around 1800 and then to West Virginia (well, Virginia, as it wasn't separated then) after 1820. According to census docs, Robert was born in Maryland between 1770 and 1780. May have had a brother Joseph. Ring a bell? For a different variation on genealogy seaches with Google include the word 'genealogy' as a search parameter. See the following link for details. Fred http://genealogy.about.com/library/weekly/aa052902a.htm
I have a Benjamin F. Parks, but he was born 4 May 1837 in Bradley County, Tennessee. He was a Civil War veteran (Kansas-Union) who died in Parker County, Texas 23 Dec 1916. He married three times (Minerva Ainsworth, Rebecca Hardin and Verzena Jane Wilson) and had 8 children. Nora and Antona (a male child known as A.T. or Tony) by the first wife, Robert Henry and an unnamed (probably stillborn) child by the second wife, and Eva Lee, Oma Atha, Mary Elmina and William Wiley by the third wife. The family lived in Arkansas part of the time. I would be very pleased to hear from any descendants. Lots of fun -- RV parks, National Parks, etc. But, some hints -- may be familiar to many of you. And, I usually just use the basic Google front page. It is possible to use their advanced search as well. I'm just lazy. First, put quote marks around the name "Aaron Parks" and that will force the search engine to group that name. Adding the town and or the state will lower the hit count. For states like New York where there are two words, I put them in quotes as well. If you have a name where there are sports involved and you want to weed those returns out, use something like -basketball [note that there is no space]. If you want to be sure the engine uses your term then +pensioner Google will let you put in a lot of words, but will only search on the first 10. If you believe that what you want might be in pdf format you can add that to the search line, for example "Aaron Parks" -basketball +pensioner "New York" pdf Then, to pick up as many Aaron Parks as possible, run the search again and change to Park, Parke, Parkes, Peirks, Parkhurst and any of the other local variants. Happy Googling!
sounds like a good idea carol...will gather my info and try to sort it out to make more sense....:O) > Hi All, > Now I know I am not just posting to myself, how about we all post some info'...........BMD, Census or MI's...what ever you have.......there must be thousands of Parks out there......ever tried to "google" for the name ??...........I gave up !!! > So what ever.....who ever....where ever....LIST IT !!!!!!! > > > Regards, > > Carol. > > > > ==== PARKS Mailing List ==== > If you are unsubscribed from the list unintentionally, simply > resubscribe. Anyone researching PARKS in Liverpool ?? Carol.
No for me it's Parkes in Birmingham, England. They set sail for all parts of the planet and one, Henry, ended up in Australia and became a very prominent politician there. but i cannot find much else. except my Dad's Mother who was a Parkes from same location, may have been a neice to Henry, ended up in Vancouver, Canada, Annie Amelia Parkes. There were a few other Parkes too who resided in Vancouver. Hope everyone finds those roots to their family trees!!
