    3. Are you serious?? I think you are pulling my leg. This Robert of Gestigthorp who came from Preston and married Dorothy Thompson that is generating all the messages on this list is the 10 Great grandfather of Lena who married William Vaughn in 1892 Because of the Great size of this Family The Parke Society has formed it into (3) three Lineages. "S" "T" and "W" they use Family Group Sheets to number each person as follows: Lena is 10th generation of "T" and number 42090 of that generation. Her father is Charles W. Park/e/s b. 1848, d. 1920, m. Almira Morrison in 1870 all in NY Bertha Dale died 1949 in WA. , Dale was 3rd husband. Roy L. Park, Lineage Laeder, The Parke Society, INC. 2. Am new to this list and am hoping maybe someone has a reference to my Lena PARKS (my gr. grandmother) born Feb. 1875 (assuming NY, but that may not be correct). All I currently know is that she was married to Willard VAUGHN in 1892. They lived in Ballston Spa, NY and she died in 1944. Her obit listed a sister, Mrs. Bertha DALE, of Seattle, Washington. Willard and Lena had five sons and a daughter, my grandmother, Hulda Jane. Hulda married Anson Frederick BRYANT). Of the five sons, four were bachelors and I am in touch with the "cousins" from the marriage of the fifth son. No one seems to have any additional info. Would appreciate anything to help me make some connections with this line. Thanks. Mary

    3. 'Cousins', This seems like a good time to reiterate some URL's that provide information about the Park/e/s Society. Anyone researching the surname Park/e/s is welcome, but the Society was originally formed to delineate those related to Robert Parke, b 1580, Preston, ENG and in whose honor the name of Preston, CT was derived. As has been well defined, the Thomas Parke under discussion was one of his sons. Membership in the Society, among other things, can be of *great* help to those researching descendants of Robert Parke. http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/Tad_Parks/ http://www.parke.org/ Other possible Park/e/s help sites: http://resources.rootsweb.com/surnames/p/a/PARKS/ http://home.earthlink.net/~howardorjeff/park/ http://www.hsv.tis.net/~jparkes/genealogy/ http://www.mcn.org/h/parke_roots/ http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Lake/1498/ I will be happy to answer any other questions. 3. Hi Are any of you working with Northern Ebenezer/Aaron Parks? [CT, VT, NY and then on to Ohio] I am interested in tracing some of Aaron Parks' children [Aaron, Rev War from CT, lived in VT, then to Malone, Franklin Co., NY] -- some of the "missing children" are Carlton and Hiram -- there is also a Robert who was supposed to be in Toronto c. 1861. Does anyone know anything about the Ebenezer Parks who died in the Rev War? [lived in VT?, died in NY? enlisted in NY??] And, does anyone have any information about other Ebenezer Walker Parks [son of Aaron] children -- there is an Orilla [Aurilla, Arilla] who married John Gould 7 March 1833 whom we cannot trace after the wedding. There is a daughter Mariah, married name unknown; a daughter Mary - married name unknown; a son John [b 20 Nov 1839], and a son Wesley b. 28 April 1850. We know that these children were alive in 1851 when Ebenezer died in Blissfield, MI. One of the daughters lived in Berrien Co., MI but we have not been able to identify her. Cheryl

    3. Mrs. Parks from ptbo.igs.net My ancestor Solomon Parks who married Rebecca Badgley was a brother of your husband's James Parks. There is an error in his ancestry with one generation missing, James was the son of Joseph, son of Cyrenius. Be very careful with the Family Search genealogy for the Canadian Parks line. It is full of errors. I tried to point the errors out to the submittor, Mrs. Sprickerhoff but the letter came back as undeliverable. The Tree submitted by Olive Parks is more accurate. Please contact me directly for more information since I have done considerable research on this line. Arnold Weirmeir, Apsley, Ont. 3. Dee It would appear that "The Hamlin Family" book is incomplete. The following list is derived mostly from articles which appeared in the "Parke Society Newsletter" and sources are well documented. Your list does have some dates that my list does not. My line derives from Nathaniel, son of Thomas and I have not been too concerned with the other lines. 3. Tonii You will find that the LDS list in this case is deficient. The James you speak of was the son of Joseph, son of Nathaniel, son of Thomas Parke and Dorothy Thompson. Three of James' sons came to Canada as United Empire Loyalists. The other siblings stayed in the USA. They were Joseph, Sarah, Hannah, David, Cornelian, Charlotte and Clarinda.
