    1. Tom Parks
    2. Jerry/Mary Lou Bartee
    3. I am new. Been setting back and watching. My Parks are from OK and AR. My grandfather Tom Parks married Mary Elizabeth Miles on Dec 16, 1900. They had five children, Wayne b. March 24, 1902; Morris b June 24, 1918; William b. April 26, 1912, Irene b. July 5, 1905; and Alllie b July 18, 1904. Tom died in May 1924 and is buried at Leader Cemetery in Gerty, OK. All the children stayed in OK accept William who moved to MO in 1940 and then to CO in 1950. When my father, William, was young when the family moved into Arkansas for awhile and then back to OK. I do not know if the Miles or the Parks came from there or even both. They lived around McAlister and Gerty for years and then the children mostly ended up in the area around Pawnee, Shanee, Edid and Perry. I can remember many trips to those towns as a child. I am just starting this limb of the tree. My dad never was very thrilled about the idea of me digging around, but he left a note pad of his mothers with all kinds o! f dates in it and it has gotten me started. Anyone think they have a connection. Mary Lou

    1. Aaron Parks - CT, VT, NY - Rev War Vet
    2. Cheryl Morris
    3. I am looking for the parents and siblings of Aaron Parks -- born c. Oct 1764 in Norwich, CT. He enrolled in the Rev War from Ashford, CT where he was then residing. In Sept 1785 he married Rachel Walker [desc of "Widow" Walker of Rehoboth] and by 1790 they resided in Sudbury, Rutland Co., VT. Rachel died 19 Aug 1804 and by 1806 Aaron and family were in Malone, Franklin Co., NY. Aaron volunteered for the War of 1812 along with other Malone veterans in a group called the Silver Greys. We know that Aaron was still alive in March 1848 and was then living in the home of his son, Aaron, in Constable. Pension records do not indicate where he died or when. I have not been able to find a DAR gravesite [any volunteers for lookups?]. Rachel's gravesite indicates that she was the widow of Capt. Aaron Parks -- we think that the Capt. refers to the Vermont Militia. I am not certain where he married Rebecca -- she was evidently a widow with a daughter, Myra, who was adopted by Aaron, but they were married c. 1805/1807. I would also like to know about the Parks who, alsong with Timothy Miller, Thomas Ketcham and John Gage, was one of the founders of Sudbury -- I think it likely that this Parks was a relative of Aaron's. There is also the mystery of Susan Prescott b. c. 1801 and who is identified as Aaron's daughter. She is always referred to as "Susan Prescott" and we do not know if the Prescott is a middle name or a surname; it is not a married name. Parks/Walker children's names: Orrille, Ebenezer Walker, Sabrina, Mary "Polly", Alanson, Aaron, [Susan Prescott], Carlton. Parks/Rebecca .... children's names: Orinda, Harry C., Hiram P. Other tidbits: We believe that there is great confusion on Rachel and Dolly -- some records indicate Aaron married Dolly -- we think Dolly was Rachel's sister. We think Aaron's father served in the Rev War also -- but this is from a grandson's bio 100 years later. Any links -- parents, siblings, good rumors?? Cheryl

    2. Ken Parks
    3. Looking for information on Henry Parks, b.ca 1800-NC? married Elizabeth Thomas b. ca 1800 NC or VA?. Probably married in TN (either Roane or Monroe Co.). Henry Parks died between 1838-39, probably Monroe Co., TN. According to the 1840 Monroe Co. TN census, they had 9 sons and one daughter. These are the names of the children we know: Mary Ann (m. Henry Branson) b. ca 1823, John b.ca 1830, David b. ca 1831, Reuben b. ca 1835, Jacob b.ca 1837, James b. ca 1838. Have never been able to find Henry Parks listed in 1830 census, though they were most likely in either Roane or Monroe Co. TN. Any information on this family would be greatly appreciated and would love to exchange info with anyone researching this family. Thanks, Ken Parks [email protected]

    3. My most wanted Parks ancestor is Syrel Parks. He married to Lucretia Moore on 02/01/1838 in Greene County, Ill. Lucretia is listed in the 1850 Pike, Ill Census with three children: Caroline,9, Terrel, 6, and James,4. Also living with them was a Agnes Barr, 70, and Susan Moore, 21 and Louisa Moore,1. Terrel is my ggrandfather and was born in 1844 (1846) in Pittsfield, ILL After the Civil War, Terrell went to KS and married Jennie Coulbourne on 01/13/1888. He had two more sons Stephen S. Parks born 10/26/1873 in Missouri (I think with another wife) and Lee H with Jennie as mother born 5/1889 in KS. Anything sound familiar. Diana in OK

    2. I am working on the Calvin Parks whose father according to the familysearch.org site is James W Parks. My Calvin parks was from St Clair County Missouri with a birthdate of June 20 1826 in Tennessee and Died July 24 1864 in St Clair Co Missouri. Now the problem I am having is that the family gives one set of information for his wife and family search gives different info and other sites give even other information yet. I am trying to hook up to people who are researching this line so that I can get this mess figured out over who is correct and who exactly is the mother of Phila Elemina Parks his daughter our ancestor. The problem with the family search information is that the dates don't match that which I have for the children. I am pretty certain what I have on the children is correct unless the tombstones are wrong. What a mess HELP! 3. My Parks brickwall(HUGE) is: JOHN W. PARKS Information I have on him is VERY sparse: Born August 29,1869 at Harrison Iowa (I can't find any evidence that this was in Harrison County Iowa....so what else?) Died: 1923 at Belfield, North Dakota... the State of ND doesn't have a death record for him??? Married: Hattie (Harriet?) Louella Duncanson (sometime near 1900 because first child was born that year) born: July 30,1875 at Coffeville,KS died: March 13,1929 in Des Moines,IA (Hattie Lynch) They divorced (I know not when) Children: Harley Otis Parks March 14,1900 Arnold Earnest Parks Oct.30,1901 Florence May Parks Aug.17,1903 Appleton,MN. (my grandmother) Flossie E. Parks April 10,1905 Belfield,ND? That is where she died at 18 mos. old James Bradford Parks Oct. 10,1907 Information on these were sparse because of the divorce and Hattie developed cancer. The children were placed in orphanages. All of them stayed in minimal touch. All of the children are gone now....we don't know about James Bradford because he lost touch totally...was a doctor in Iowa. Their early movements seem to follow that of other PARKS families at that time... Iowa to Minnesota to North Dakota.... rumor 1...John Parks mother was Castilian rumor 2.. John Parks moved back to Iowa, remarried and had a car dealership there rumor 3.. John Parks died in NY...killed because he was cheating at a card game.. Well folks...now you know what I know...any ideas to break this brick wall down??? Anything look familiar??? Paulette Williams I hear ethereal whispers persuasive, soft and still, "Daughter,if you don't remember us,who will?"

    1. PARKS, David--Ohio--1860's
    2. Mary McVicker
    3. I'm wondering if anyone might have a David PARKS married to a Mary ROACH. Their daughter, Beatrice PARKS, was born about 1860 and married Phillip SICKLES. They were my great-great-grandparents. I haven't yet established where exactly the PARKS lived, but I'm told they may have lived near New Matamoras in Washington, Ohio. Phillip and Beatrice PARKS SICKLES lived in Noble and Guernsey Counties, Ohio, as well as for a time in Michigan. I have been told by older family members that David and Mary ROACH PARKS had four other daughters, one of whom was a Dora GILL who later lived in Michigan, and 2 sons, one of whom may have been named John PARKS. Hope to hear from anyone who may see a possible connection with your PARKS family. Thanks. Mary McVicker [email protected]

    3. Happy New Year everyone! I've just uncovered a PARKES connection in my tree, and wonder if anyone can tie up with it. Pheobe PARKES b abt 1853 Worcs (Halesowen?), daughter of Henry PARKES and Elizabeth RALPH (parents of Henry PARKES - William and Phoebe, siblings of Henry PARKES - Ann, Enock and Rhoda I believe from the IGI) Phoebe married Henry FLORENCE, my g g grandfather. I have a suspicion that there were FLORENCE's in the area so there may be a connection (my FLORENCE's are from London and Pheobe was found there in the 1881 census). Hope I can connect with someone. 3. Hi ~~ I just found this in my family tree and wondering if anyone can shed some light on it! Rebecca Parks (Parque) born 1707, Co. Antrim, Ireland. Died 1806 Mill Creek, Newberry Co., SC. Daughter of James Parks (Jacque Parque) born c 1675 France - a Hugenot. I'm at a loss for the last name, which is obviously French, going from France to Ireland in the early 1700's. Here in New England we have a lot of folks changing their names from French to English to fit in during the early years. However, this is in the south. Anyone run into this. If she was born in Fairfield Co.as the census states, then James Parks could be her father. 1790 PARK JAMES Fairfield County SC 02 02 03 00 00 1800 PARKS JAMES Fairfield County SC 30110-41110-00 1820 PARKS JAMES Fairfield County SC O 1 1 1 0 1 - O 1 4 0 1 He seems to be the only Parks around with children the right age. Does anyone know who this James PARK/PARKS is? Could this be a brother of Hugh Parks of Newberry and Fairfield? I'd appreciate any clues on this mystery Parks. Susan -- Susan C.
