Then, some (GBW for example) left before 1850, some stayed and fought the Civil War. Some are still in KY/West Virginia, while some branches followed GBW to Oregon in about 1879. I tell you this because we have no "clue" as to the Ballard part of GBW's name (nor what the "W" is for at all, for that matter). does anyone have any information on Capt. Parke buried in the old cemetery at Ashford, CT? There are two tombstones there with near same dates: Died Sept 21, 1788 age 77 Died Aug 20, 1786 age 78 He seems to be nearly the only Park/e/s buried in Ashford and am wondering if anyone knows anything about his family/children???
