It should tell you where they were born and also where their parents were born. I'd also contact the cemetery for the records held there. That should get you started. Try the state health department for the death record and for the birth records of their children. Emalu > >Hello, Guess I goofed in not saying where. Hello, Guess I goofed in not saying where. As far as I know it was most likely around Pittsburgh County, OK. Most of the children were born in that area. They lived in that area until late 20s early 30s. Tom died and was buried in Gerty, OK in 1924. I'm grinning too, but what about I don't know. Where are the blanks???? Anything I know about this would be a repetition of something that came from LDS which I'm very wary of. Linda..you mean you are right here in little Klamath Falls? You must be an Oregon native since your family goes way back in this state.. You and I are not related..my Parks family is all from Illinois. I was born in Canton, Illinois in 1946, and my parents moved to Calif. when I was 5.. I stayed in Calif until I was 30, then moved to Nevada..lived in Nevada 20 yrs, raised my only child there, and he still lives in the Reno area with wife and children. My husband I moved to Klamath 3 1/2 year ago as my Dad was also in Oregon..my father has now passed away and is buried in the beautiful VA cemetary over in Eagle Point..have you seen that Cemetary for any reason? Speaking of cemetaries..it seems that no one has recorded the headstones of any of the cemetaries here in Klamath County..I told the co-ordinator that when summer came back, I would try to do some of the cemetary near old downtown..can't think of the name of that one but it must be the oldest in this area..do you maybe have family buried there..? I have Arthritis and Fibromyalgia so it sometimes is hard for me to get around, but I would like to do that cemetary as it is a way to pay back for all the info I have received on my parents families..! Please keep in touch.. Roxanne Parks Garrett http://community.webtv.net/garretts2/RoxannesHomeontheWeb
I would imagine that you have the website by now as I posted it to the list..but just in case it is: http://www.shawhan.com/marriages.html Happy hunting.. Roxanne http://community.webtv.net/garretts2/RoxannesHomeontheWeb
Roxanne, I noticed you are from the same town that I live in. I am also of the Parks family. I am wondering if we are of the same line of Parks. I am descendant of Henry William Parks who m. Sarah Elizabeth Yarbrough in 1851. He came to Oregon in the late 1840;s- early 1850's with his brother James Hereford Parks who m. Martha Ellen Woodfin in 1865. Could you be of this line?? I only recently found out I have other relatives here in town. Do these names sound familiar??? Looking forward to hearing from you.
