    3. Michael - As some of the previous messages have indicated it might be a good idea to list some of the family names in the bible. My family has lived in Portland (Multnomah Co.), Oregon for a long time, and I was born here. Most of my family is now gone with me and now my single son to carry on the family name. Check out the Parke Society website at http://www.parke.org/ , and you'll see what I mean. I don't connect with Roger, so far as I know. Referring to the data I sent last time, I know that James Monroe Parks' father was John Parks, and that's about it. John had no descendents that I know of named Roger. He could have been kin, but I've not been able to nail down his origins very well. What about the Harkey connection? It's pretty unusual in my experience to hit on a double name whammy like that. As you can see from the Harkey data that I sent, there are lots of them in and around San Saba, TX. There's even a little community a few miles west of town that's known as Harkeyville. James Parks

    3. Last week I asked for information about the family below. Shortly after that our email system crashed. We have been offline and not receiving mail for a week. If you have information about this family I would appreciate if you could resend it to me. THANKS. I am seeking information about a James and Polly Parks family which lived in Kentucky (Bourbon County?) in the late 1700's. Daughter Elizabeth (b. 1763?) married Thomas Gibson. There was also a son named James. Supposedly the family came from Maryland.

    1. Re: [PARKS] Parks of Hardeman Co. Tn
    2. Hi: I am searching for some more info on my ancestors. My grandfather was Travis Parks (b. 10-19-1881) and who died 11-8-1934. He married my grandmother, Ruby Clara Jackson, (born 12-20-1891 and died 12-16-1977) on 11-12-1912. They had seven children including my mother, Gladys. My great-grandfather was Dewitt Calvin "Pappy" Parks who was born about 1854 in Texas and died in 1914 in California. He married Kitty Robinson (born 4-29-1858 in Richmond, Madison, Kentucky) and died 9-26-1899) about 1880. They had seven children, including my grandfather Travis Parks. That is where my search ends on the Parks side. I have located relatives of Kitty Robinson here in California, so info on her side is not needed as much as info on the Parks side. My info ends with my great-grandfather. If you have any info, please let me know. Thanks. Patsy Conner

    3. Jean, Perhaps the William H. Parks is a brother to Ambrose. I have W. H. married to Malinda Clift. Their children were born ca. 1822, so W. H. would have to be a much older brother or the father. Please let me know if you find more on this William H. Parks, as i have hit a real snag. He was my ggg grandfather. Janie
