Since no one can find their family of a "James" Parks in Tenn., may I offer a little mystery that I encountered in the late '70's or early '80's?? I was watching Willard Scott, the weatherman, on TV. As usual he offered congratulations to those reaching their l00th birthday. I was really taken aback when he showed a picture of James Wilbur Parks of Tennessee. He was the spitting image of my great-grandfather who was, also, James Wilbur Parks, but had died in Eglon, Preston Co., W. Va.. in 1957. I looked up the name of the town on the map of Tenn. (have forgotten it now) and it was right on the western border of Tenn. Sorry to say, I never tried to contact him by snail-mail. Wish I had. Hello Parks cousins, Can anyone help me locate Margaret E. (PARKS) Carpenter. Henry CARPENTER b. 1856 is my gg-grandfather he was married to Margaret E. (PARKS) They were married about 1877. These are Henry's and Margaret's children - Mary A. b. 1879, SAMUEL W.(4) b. 1880 in Forsythe, MO, John H. b. 1882 in TX, Bert b. 1886, Harrison b. 1888, Ione b. 1889, Dora E. b. 1892, L. Clinton b. 1894, Nison b. 1897, and Hobert b. 1898. They had 16 children, these are the ones who lived to adulthood, all were born in MO except John who was born in TX. I know very little on Margaret - other than her parents were born either in MO or TN (info from census records) I have been told that she had a sister name Maggie who married a PARTON for her husband I know that Henry Carpenter's family moved back and forth between TX, AR, and MO between 1840 through 1910.
