I am seeking contact with the descendants of Richard and Frances PARKER, and their children who were born between 1808 and 1828 and were baptised (according to the IGI) variously at Old Brampton and Chesterfield. I have recently been given, by a friends who have just moved house in Edinburgh, Scotland, a family Bible with a list of the children of Richard and Frances PARKER taped and pinned (originally wafered) to the front free endpaper. My friends have no connection with the Parker family that they know of, and think that one of their fathers probably acquired it many years ago as part of a job lot purchased at a house sale. They would, however, like to see the Bible returned to the descendents of the Parker family or to somewhere else where it will be welcomed. The Christian's Family Bible (Liverpool: Caxton Press, 1815 but reprinted ca 1820) is a handsome but heavy folio volume measuring 16 x 10 x 3 inches and in a contemporary suede-finish leather binding. It appears to contain no annotations, family or otherwise, apart from the taped-in list. I should be glad to hear from anyone interested in acquiring this volume for the cost of carriage.
