It started back in 1740'ish with one couple and like Topsy grew and grew. My great great grandfather William Parker b, 1796 together with his brothers started a Skewer making business which resulted in sheds and leanto buildings all over making them out of wood. Throughout the census years 1851 to 1881 there was only one skewermaker not surnamed Parker. That was my great grandfather John Thomas Bowden b. 1847 to Josiah and Esther Bowden nee Parker. Josiah Bowden died young and John Thomas Bowden was brought up in his grandfather William Parker's house. Kath Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
